sflow configuration

sflow in HP A5120 and HP 5500 Switches.

Today i am going to show you how to enable sflow in HP switches

Lets start !

login to the HP switch and configure the following things as listed.

  • sflow agent
  • sflow collector
  • sflow flow collector
  • sflow sampling-rate
  • sflow counter collector
Just like this:

[nightread3r]sflow agent ip 192.168.51.98 (Self ip or switch ip)
[nightread3r]sflow collector 1 ip 10.0.0.10 (PRTG server ip) description "CLI collector"

[nightread3r]int GigabitEthernet 1/0/1
[nightread3r-GigabitEthernet1/0/1]sflow sampling-rate 1000
[nightread3r-GigabitEthernet1/0/1]sflow flow collector 1
[nightread3r-GigabitEthernet1/0/1]sflow counter collector 1

and now go to the PRTG server and add the sensor named sflow, like this:

Now wait for a minute so that  sflow sensor will collect the the sflow data after that you can open that:

So you can view the all traffic which have been collected by the flow. now enjoy the sflow traffic.

PRTG Backup and Restore

Hi All ! Today I am going to demonstrate how to backup PRTG and restore. Let's starts ! 1> we have to stop the service of the PRTG Core Server Service and PRTG Probe Service 2>  go to start run and type %programdata% and copy the Paessler folder to the another location 3> Before reinstalling the PRTG restore the backup copy of the data (Paessler folder)  as the previous location (%programdata%)  and then install the PRTG, and remove the Network Discovery if not required. you will find the old data with the new PRTG, it don't matter what the OS you are using. Now it has been completed your backup and restore the PRTG. Happy Learning !

ArubaOS-CX, ArubaOS- Switch, Comware and Cisco IOS

The command line comparison demonstrated for 4 different OS of the switches, I think this will help you to understand the configuration level deployment. Comware Differences If you are familiar with either the ArubaOS-Switch CLI or the Cisco IOS CLI, you will notice that the  Comware CLI is organized slightly differently . Comware was designed for Internet service providers (ISPs). Many features and functions—such as security and Quality of Service (QoS)—are multi-tiered to  support the different needs of multiple entities accessing the same switch. ArubaOS-CX ArubaOS switch (now the Aruba OS), HPE Comware version 7 Cisco IOS ArubaOS-CX operating system runs on the 8400 and 8320 switches. ArubaOS Switch operating system runs on Aruba 2530 , Aruba 2920 , Aruba 2930F , Aruba 2930M , Aruba 3810M , Aruba 5400R , HPE 2620 , HPE 3500 , HPE 5400 and HPE 3800 switch platforms.
